The restaurant is located right by a river, and even in the summer, the breeze made it feel cool. The cod udon had a flavorful broth that wasn't too spicy, and the noodles were thick and hearty. Despite being served in a tub, the portion size was just right for one person, so it's easy to share with others. The udon is cooked to order, so it may take a little longer, but it was delicious. The fried river crab was crispy and incredibly tasty.
This is always my go-to place for eating tarai udon. The tatami seating area overlooking the river is also very pleasant in the summer. I highly recommend the skewered chicken and mixed rice dish. Make sure to try the deep-fried sawagani too, it's a must-try!
I went to Tokushima City, Taseicho to try the local specialty dish of tarai udon. The broth seemed to be made from a river fish called Yoshinobori. The flavor was rich and surprisingly delicious. The kamameshi rice dish was also delicious with a gentle flavor. The grilled ayu fish was light and fluffy, and irresistible. I had imagined something similar to Sanuki udon, but it was completely different. Thank you for the delicious meal.
