My energy,... read more I stopped by after climbing Mt. Kuju for dango soup, chicken tempura, and Kujusan. It had been two days since my last meal, so it was a proper meal. My energy, depleted from the descent, recovered all at once. It would have been perfect if I could drink beer too, but unfortunately they don't sell beer here. The person next to me must have bought canned beer somewhere nearby. While admiring Mt. Kuju, which I had just climbed, and sharing memories of the hike, I enjoyed my meal. Even if you don't climb mountains, you can still feel the vast nature around you, which I think is great!

Ofuna, and... read more There is a vast parking lot and the entrance to Mt. Kuju, Kyushu's Kyujyodake, is available. It serves as a convenient hiking trail to Mt. Kuju, Mt. Ofuna, and the beautiful Heizeyama with pink Miyamakirishima via Bofutsuru. The first floor serves as a dining area, while the second floor is a large hot spring bath. It is very refreshing to wash away the sweat after descending.

It had a slightly sweet and rich flavor typical of Kyushu. The staff brings the food to you, but they can be quite clumsy and might spill some of your soup while bringing it to you haha. It seems like a kind restaurant where even elderly people can work. You get two pieces of chicken tempura. They are quite small. It's understandable that it's a bit pricey since it's in a remote mountain area.
