When I visited Roadside Station Kitsuregawa, they were having a Yosakoi dance performance. It seemed to be a local team. This roadside station offers natural hot springs with a unique smell that becomes addictive, as well as a free foot bath (one of Japan's top three beauty hot springs). The hot spring water is sulfur-sodium-chloride spring with a high salinity, neutral pH, and a temperature of 73.2°C. It is colorless and transparent with a strong salty, oily, and sulfur smell. The hot spring baths do not have a chlorine smell. The indoor and outdoor baths both use natural hot spring water, but the outdoor bath feels more concentrated. The water temperature is over 42°C, ensuring a relaxing soak. There are also saunas and cold baths in the outdoor area. Admission is ¥500 for access to the hot spring and sauna facilities. The sauna area includes a walking bath and jacuzzi, surrounded by various other baths like electric baths and strong baths. There is a vending machine at the reception area where you can purchase tickets. The highlight of the onsite store is the local specialty "hot spring bread" and the large-sized deli bread from the bakery. The parking lot is spacious and there is a riverside area in the back where you can relax and enjoy the view. There is also a park where you can have fun and play.
Car camping review. It was a great place. The park road along the Kiregawa River from the Michi-no-Eki was delightful. We were able to enjoy a peaceful view while eating rice and salt-grilled fish at the Ayu restaurant outdoors. The Michi-no-Eki's direct sales area is well-stocked like a large Michi-no-Eki. The dining area closes relatively early (everything ends at 6 p.m.), so it might be a good idea to buy a bento box in advance here. The bath facilities are open until 9:30 p.m., which is great for those who stay late. Moreover, the fee for adults is cheap at 500 yen. You can enjoy both well-equipped facilities and a peaceful view, understanding that it can get crowded during the day. Although it is very crowded during the day, parking spaces start to become available around 4 p.m., so it may be a good idea to aim for that time slot.

The station also has indoor and outdoor baths, saunas, cold baths, and a "Aragawa no Yu" and "Uchikawa no Yu" (male and female baths alternate daily), as well as a spa house where you can wear a swimsuit. It was less crowded than I expected. I bought some fox eggs and saw a food truck. The deli bread from the hot spring bakery looked unique, but I decided not to buy any as it seemed like too much to eat. It might be a nice stop for those cycling along the way.
