This is a long-established udon restaurant run by a young couple who are the second generation owners. The hand-made, chewy and smooth udon noodles are truly delicious. The photo shows a set meal with shrimp tempura, fried mochi udon, and bamboo shoot rice. It comes with side dishes and pickles, all for a reasonable price of 1,000 yen including tax. They also served a proper oshibori. The customer service is very pleasant. In terms of taste, price, and service, this restaurant deserves a 5-star rating.
I visited the udon restaurant "Sanukiya" along Route 8 in Aichigawa. I went on a weekday around noon and it was a bit crowded. I ordered the Warm Yam Udon for ¥780 as it has been hot recently and I have been feeling a bit sluggish. The interior of the restaurant was cool and I wanted something warm. The udon was served in about 10 minutes. The broth was a bit dark in color, but the taste was rich and matched well with the yam, creating a good balance. The noodles were thick and chewy with a slippery texture, which I also enjoyed. It was a very delicious udon. If I ever come back to Aichigawa, I would definitely stop by again. Thank you for the meal.
The taste, ambiance, service, and price are all great at this restaurant. The tempura soba comes with a generous amount of crispy and delicious tempura. It may be a bit heavy with oil, but it was so tasty that I finished it all without even realizing it! You can ask the staff for some salt. I also ordered the chicken tempura for 1010 yen, which would probably cost around 2000 yen in Tokyo for the same quality!
