When it comes to delicious hamburgers in Kumamoto, the name of this famous restaurant always comes up. The restaurant's facade exudes a retro Showa Era groove, and the interior has an old-fashioned coffee shop atmosphere that is simply irresistible. Although the menu is quite extensive, almost every customer orders the hamburger. In particular, the "Jumbo Special" lives up to its name with a hearty hamburger and a side of Napoli-style spaghetti that goes beyond expectations. Forget about soup and salad, the feeling of enjoying a "grown-up's kids' lunch" is just amazing.
I'm not a fan of hamburg steak in general, but the hamburg steak here was soft and delicious. Following the recommendation of my companion, I ordered the Milano burger. The Neapolitan pasta was generously portioned and had a rich flavor, making for a hearty lunch. The casual atmosphere and the friendly staff added to the overall charm of the restaurant. The spaghetti noodles not being sticky was a pleasant surprise and added to the enjoyment of the dish.
I have been coming to this pantomime restaurant for about 35 years. When I was a student, I used to eat the Milano burger for 700 yen because I didn't have much allowance. Now that I am a working adult, the Jan Spe Jumbo Special burger is the only choice at 1,100 yen. I have only tried these two types of burgers at this restaurant, and I don't even need to look at the menu. The hamburgers are juicy and delicious, but the highlight is definitely the Neapolitan pasta. The thick noodles are amazing. Personally, I think it's the best in Japan. I wipe my mouth with a tissue while savoring it. The restaurant's exterior and interior have remained the same since Showa era, and the taste has not changed either. Reviews mention the courteous service of the owner and staff, which has also remained consistent. Come and enjoy the delicious hamburgers and Neapolitan pasta, and I will continue to visit this restaurant in the future!
