As another user already said, the vegan cube was set during the pandemic. It has mostly bought foreign travellers and there was not enough demand due to the Japanese entry restrictions. The staff did not know if the vegan ekiben would ever be reintroduced and did not want to raise any hopes. From now on, they do not even have a vegetarian option.
