Was Jun Kudo at みやうち a mag?
Located in the middle of a slightly run-down arcade shopping street in front of the exit of Awa-Ikeda Station, this restaurant is about a 2-minute walk from the station. There are not many restaurants open during lunchtime in this area, but this udon shop stands out with its unique lively atmosphere. The udon noodles are similar to Sanuki udon with a firm texture. This restaurant near Awa-Ikeda Station is essentially the only option for travelers looking to have lunch in Awa-Ikeda. It has become a gathering place for local residents, as it is conveniently located near the city hall, JR station, post office, Awa Bank, and other facilities. The conversations are loud, with staff speaking about their own situations and customers' family environments without any regard for privacy. The udon is not exceptionally delicious, but the staff are friendly, with the attractive owner overseeing the operation. Since the consumption tax increase in October of the first year of Reiwa era, prices have gone up by 10%, which has left some customers feeling uneasy. The set meals are quite substantial and would suit those who enjoy consuming carbohydrates. Interestingly, the address of this restaurant is listed as Salad in Ichinomiya-cho, Miyoshi City. It was apparently originally located in Sarada, but this area has many katakana place names. It would be interesting to see this restaurant featured on a TV program like "Buratamori" someday.
During lunch time, this restaurant offers a variety of affordable menus, making it a popular spot. However, it was cold so I opted for the tempura soba. The noodles were thick and cut like Sanuki soba, with a light and rustic broth. The zaru soba that a young man was eating next to me looked delicious.

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a lot of carbohydrates, combining the udon with rice and fried horse mackerel. It was very delicious.
