The famous Tajima beef did not disappoint! The lunch menu is on the pricier side, but I opted for the 150g parent Tajima beef steak instead of the younger cuts due to the price. The famous Tajima beef did not disappoint! The lunch menu is on the pricier side, but I opted for the 150g parent Tajima beef steak instead of the younger cuts due to the price. The result was more than satisfying - the meat was incredibly delicious, with high quality fat and unbelievable tenderness. You can get unlimited rice refills, so I ended up eating a whole extra bowl with each piece of meat. Despite getting caught in the rain on my motorcycle ride there, it was worth it. The staff were very kind, providing towels and a secure place to store my helmet and belongings. I definitely want to go back again.
During a company trip, I stayed at a hotel in Kasumi where I was recommended to visit Yumura, so I was taken there by the company president and had the Kaede set meal with 120g of Tajima beef fillet. The meal included appetizers, salad, miso soup, pickles, and rice. There were three types of dressings available, and you could have seconds of rice. The main meat and garlic chips were cooked on a teppan grill behind the counter. When I went, there were no chairs at the counter, but they recommended eating at the counter. A paper table mat introduced the fact that Tajima beef is the source of famous beef from all over Japan, which I had seen on TV before. It was delicious! If you are told that you cannot eat the same quality of food for the same price elsewhere, you would understand. If I were to go there on my own, I would probably choose the yakiniku set meal or the hamburger set meal. Still, it would be delicious enough! The service from the staff was great, and the atmosphere of the restaurant and the restroom were also good. On the way back towards Yoka, there were many Tajima beef restaurants, but since I had not been to any of them, I cannot compare, but I could tell that it was a good recommendation. If I pass through Yumura again, I will come back to eat the hamburger set meal!
I visited the restaurant because I wanted to eat Tajima beef. I had sirloin and thigh steak. I wanted to order the most flavorful Ichibo, but unfortunately it was sold out. The Tajima beef lived up to its reputation! It is a flavorful meat! Some may say that it is expensive or that beef from other prefectures is better, but I disagree. It may be better to continuously improve the breed to make it tastier. (Tajima beef may be slightly smaller compared to other beef due to not being artificially bred for size) However, considering the history of the purebred black cattle breed since the Meiji era, I find it very profound that you can taste the original Japanese black cattle breed. The rice was also very delicious and paired perfectly with the meat. The rice and water in Tajima are the best! It was a satisfying meal.
