Located next to Kyoei, it's common for shoppers to grab a meal here before heading home. The restaurant can get busy during lunchtime, with both table and counter seating available. Dishes like kama-age, kama-tama, and kama-kake udon take about 10-12 minutes to cook in the kiln. The smaller portion size of udon is popular among older customers and kids. Mixing tempura shrimp or squid tempura with the udon broth adds to the deliciousness. The crispy texture of the tempura pairs well with the broth. Toppings like green onion, grated daikon radish, ginger, and tempura crumbs are available for customization.

I had the Kamaage Kake Udon and it was delicious. The noodles were firm and the broth was tasty. The tempura half-boiled egg was also large and delicious. Toppings like green onions and tenkasu are placed on the left side after payment at the register, so you can add them freely. The price is reasonable for a self-serve udon. It gets pretty busy with customers during lunchtime. There are no issues with parking. I'm thinking of trying the curry udon next time I visit.

普段、うどんは近所のお店で食べているのですが、その日は所用の為、吉野川市川島方面に向かっていました。 その帰り道、国道１９２号線のキョーエイ鴨島セレブ店の一画に”セルフうどんやま”を見かけましたので、立ち寄りました。 時間は１７時前と、夕飯前にも少し早い時間。 帰宅しても夕飯は２０時を超えるため、少し腹ごしらえをしようと入りました。 このお店は一方通行型で、入り口と出口が別々にあります。 車を止めたところに入り口あるなと思ったのですが、車を降りてみてみると出口となっていたので、ぐるっと入り口側に回り込みました。 中に入ると、１７時前の割には、天ぷらがありました。 とり天と温玉天はかかせません。 後、この店には大きめのエビ天があったので、そちらもチョイス。 かけうどんには、天かすとネギを載せました。 天かすの中に野菜かき揚げの破片が入っていたので、それをひらってのせたら、写真で見ると、かなり天かすが乗っているように見えます。 さて、お味ですが、もっちりしていてつるっとしたのど越しです。 噛めば小麦の風味を感じ、美味しいですね。 北海道産の小麦粉を中心に、いくつかの小麦粉をブレンドしているとのこと。 使っている塩は、香川県の大和製作所さんが作っている麺専用の塩である『46億年』を使用。 この塩は、全国的にも知名度のあがってきている麺専用の塩で、とてもまろやかな塩なんです。 その塩を使っていることもあり、麺が美味しいんです。 また、天ぷらもカラッとあがっていました。 天ぷらには、菜種油などではなく、カラッと揚げることができる米油を使用しているのだそう。 うどん、揚げ物ともに満足のいくうどん店でした。 メインの食事時間に行くときには、カレーうどんや肉ぶっかけなども食べてみたいなと思います。
