I visited during the Miyama Cycle Stamp Rally. It is located directly across from the Michi-no-Eki Miyama Fureai Hiroba. It was Saturday lunchtime, but due to the bad weather, I was able to sit without waiting. The interior has a slightly complex layout. The so-called set meals are served in a bento style. The famous fried chicken, as everyone has written, was really juicy and delicious in the Fried Chicken Bento A, which left me feeling full. The omurice and curry were also simple and had a homely taste, making it feel like a traditional set meal restaurant where you can feel at ease. It's a shame I couldn't stay longer due to the bad weather.
Just in front of Michi-no-Eki Miyama, there is a Western-style restaurant with a touch of Showa era in both its exterior and interior. It feels more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. The food is excellent. I ordered the Karaage Bento A, which came with large Karaage and shrimp fry. It had a generous portion and cost less than 1000 yen, making it a great value. The Karaage was juicy and delicious with a soy sauce base. Of course, I had the soft serve ice cream from Michi-no-Eki Miyama for dessert.
I stopped by on my way back from seeing the beautiful scenery of Miyama, just across from the Michi-no-eki. I ordered the fried chicken bento, and it was delicious with a generous portion. The restaurant seemed to be run by a couple, and the waitress seemed to be working hard on her own. It seemed like a few locals were also dining there, and I could feel that the restaurant is loved by the locals.
