It was a delicious restaurant where you can eat local cuisine. The food is not only delicious because it is fresh, but also because the chefs are skilled. The seemingly unfriendly proprietress (?), when asked about the food, told us various things. It's a hidden gem of a restaurant that is not crowded.
Some people may write about the lack of hospitality, but I believe it is sufficient. The prices are very cheap compared to neighboring restaurants, and they even offer breakfast early in the morning, showing that they care about their customers. It's a business that isn't overly commercial, which I appreciate. It's much better than a place that is overly friendly, expensive, and serves mediocre food. I had the Kushaya and Island Sushi set meals, as well as the local fish fry, and they were all delicious.
This restaurant serves local cuisine such as Kusayaya Island sushi. They use plenty of Hachijo Island ingredients, including spring rolls made with kusaya and ashitaba, as well as fried dishes using island fish. The prices are affordable and the dishes have a familiar, home-cooked feel. It is recommended for those who want to try the local cuisine of the island at a reasonable price.
