Was もり麺JAPAN at Wáng Lán a mag?
This restaurant is run by one master alone. There may be minimal conversation, so some people may find it a bit unfriendly. The soup for the tantanmen is pre-made and just heated up before serving. Both the tantanmen and miso ramen have a slightly sweet soup, with the taste varying each time (laughs). The noodles are thin and cooked until slightly soft, but personally I like them that way. It's about a 15-minute walk from the station. I arrived around 12:45 on a holiday. There were about 5 people waiting outside the restaurant. I only had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. Water is self-serve. I received my food in about 10 minutes. I ordered gyoza and miso ramen from the ticket vending machine and handed it to the owner. The gyoza arrived first, and I wondered if there were hits and misses with them. Then the miso ramen arrived. The soup was sweet but had a miso flavor. The noodles were surprisingly thin curly noodles. The portion of noodles was small so men might want to go for the large size. Overall, it was delicious.

I tried the miso ramen. Miso ramen is a dish that you can't really go wrong with at any restaurant, but I often find that they all taste similar. However, the miso ramen at Oiran was honestly delicious. The sweetness in the aftertaste of the soup is surprising, whether it comes from the napa cabbage or the miso, I'm not sure, but it's unique. The noodles are flat and soft, with a smooth and pleasant texture. If you prefer firmer noodles or like chewiness, then you probably don't understand the appeal of these noodles. There's a Seven-Eleven nearby, so you could even try the Super Cup ramen there. Overall, it's a great restaurant. I will definitely be going back. Also, I really liked the atmosphere created by the chef.
