This must be the biggest vegetable buffet I've seen so far! And for only 7000 KRW per person, the price for this buffet is also incredibly low! It belongs to the Buddhist temple Mireuksa 미륵사, which is right on the other side of the street, and the people from the temple also seem to eat in this cafeteria. They only serve lunch here and do not fill the dishes so that the dish that goes out remains empty. It is better to arrive early and come before 2:00 so you have enough time to eat and enjoy the food. We arrived here at 2:30 p.m. and although there was enough food left, they almost didn't let us in and we had to eat in a hurry. The buffet is a huge selection of veggie-friendly traditional Korean food: There are four different types of cooked rice, soups, some pork, tofu, several vegetable supplements, six! types of kimchi and lots of fresh vegetables! To my surprise, the food is seasoned here with garlic, onions and spring onions, which are not used in the typical temple kitchen. Besides, I wasn't sure if I could trust that Kimchi was free from fish sauce, so I didn't try it. At the entrance of the Mensa there is a kind of shop for supplements 반찬 and snacks. I have seen some supplements with fish and seafood, so I am confused whether the buffet is completely vegan. Have no chance to ask someone... In front of the building there is a large parking space available to both visitors of the cafeteria and the temple. Original This must be the largest veggie buffet I've seen so far!
