Enjoyed a yummy (and huge) breakfast at this very quirky cafe this morning. Great atmosphere, lots of memorabillia to bring back memories, good staff and plenty of parking - can't ask for much more. Will return. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Mid-Century Cafe and Collectables:
Breakfast here with friends. Decorated vintage style - take a walk down memory lane. Some items for sale. Great area for children to keep them amused. Cafe is spread over a large area so not sitting on top of each other. Staff friendly. However I was somewhat disappointed in the food - ate zucchini fritters - too mushy - could have done with some herbs to create a flavour and not crispy enough. Prices are good. Will... Had brunch today for 1st visit. Food excellent, value for money and staff very friendly. Loved all the memorabilia. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
I was here several times, but never for a meal. I think their brekkies are great, but still to try them. the coffee is on the hot, just as I ask for it. Sorry that other caffes can't make it so consistent.
What a beautiful caffe with such a unique decor. everything is vintage with many memories distributed around the caffe to see what is definitely made for an interesting conversation about pastness. we had a late breakfast that was delicious. the servier sizes were perfect,...good priced and definitiw hit the place. the personal was really friendly and I look forward to try something more from the menu.
This caffe serves good quality eating and beautiful coffee, but I found eating it very easy and tidy. I have never served an avo smash or the equivalent with just the avo and ei on toast with some side green. I suggest that the staff broke at the small donkey corner or at the north beach deli.
Mid Century Cafe was a disappointment. Many cafes have closed due to Covid, so how did this one manage to stay open? The long wait to order was frustrating, and the first thing we were asked for was our vaccination certificates. The Long Mac was so full that I couldn't even pour in the cold milk I ordered on the side. The chilli scrambled eggs I ordered lacked chilli and the sausage that was supposed to come with it. When I brought this up, I was accused of not ordering it that way. There was no apology and the second attempt at the order still fell short. After voicing my dissatisfaction and requesting a refund, I was told they do not offer refunds, despite the poor food and service. It was a disappointing experience and a waste of over $17.
