This trendy cafe located on a bustling Chapel Street offers a diverse menu with unique twists on classic dishes. While some found the music too loud inside, opting for outdoor seating provided a quieter atmosphere. The avocado, peas, and eggs dish received mixed reviews due to overly sweet hollandaise, while the carrot cake was deemed excessively sugary. The menu items were criticized for being gimmicky and lacking in execution, with a mention of a troubling billing incident. However, the service was commended for being excellent, and the Persian feta and potato croquette was a stand-out dish. Despite occasional long waits during peak times, the food was described as delicious, making it worth a visit. Overall, the cafe seems to offer a unique dining experience with some room for improvement.
What Dallas McGlynn likes about Dukes Coffee Roasters:
Excellent service and coffee. Extensive brunch menu with enjoyable Persian feta and potato croquette with kale (and cold corn). Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful View all feedback.
What Leta Schiller doesn't like about Dukes Coffee Roasters:
Menu items are trying to be trendy but come up short. They are a bit gimmicky and seem to all be the "chef's take on ...." or "deconstructed ...." basically using the buzzwords from masterchef of 1995. A good pairing is something to behold, but these combos didn't work very well.Annoyingly, there was a large plany on out table which caused lots of gnats to be flying around us.Coffee was OK. Food was poor. View all feedback.
