The Windmill restaurant received mixed reviews. Ming, a Chinese restaurant, was deemed above average with a decent selection of vegetarian options. Service was very good, atmosphere very nice. had a very nice evening to pick up friends.
I haven 't been to the Windmill for ages but thought I 'd try it again as was with a vegetarian friend and assumed the choice would be better than my local pub. Unfortunately, there were a couple of veggie dishes that weren 't available and the waitress wasn 't knowledgeable enough about the ones that were ie, what 'plants ' are in the plant based burgers, answer 'quinoa and spinach ' this wasn 't the case. The pub looked unloved and uncared for. No plants in the big planters outside, just cigarette butts and tables needing a good wash down. A plastic bag full of rubbish and other debris was in the car park when we arrived and was still there next day when we picked up my friends car at 1pm. Broken window on side door with wooden piece over it. Furniture (chairs) rickety and broken. Toilets dirty and with plant pots, again with no plants in them. Needs a good clean and a lot of love. Staff friendly enough. Food 'fair ' but nothing exciting. You need to keep up M&B, the pub world has moved on and you seem to be stuck in a rut. Windlesham is a beautiful area and needs a damn good pub unfortunately it isn 't the Windmill. I 'm hoping for some action so I can come back again and have a lovely time.

That said they didn't expect us, we didn't have a dinner reservation because they took part in an open table a few months ago.
