The place to be on the main drag in this magnificent touristy town. Pavement café with good food and good beer. Perfectly adequate, if not memorable, service.The menu is a delight with the owners complaining about all the taxes they have to pay. Apparently there's a sparkling wine tax, a coffee tax, and - especially memorable for Bostonians - a tea tax. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Ratsstübchen:
We went here for diners and ordered both an asparagus menu wth a Schnitzel. The place looks good, also has a beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking the main road in the center of Wernigerode. The prices are average, so the food. The carving was baked a little too long, but still "iceable". View all feedback.
We went here after reading the good reviews and we liked the look of the cosy restaurant area in the day time. When we arrived in the evening there was only two couples eating there and the restaurant area was brightly lit. We decided to still go in and give it a go. Really wish we had not as the food was horrible. We both had a different soup to start and they both tasted of salt. I could not eat any more than a couple of mouthfulls. For main course I had pork schwintel with chips. The pork was tough and greasy and the chips were also to salty to finish along with the mushroom cream sauce, you guessed it also full of salt. My husband had a dark sauce with his meat again too salty.Neither of us could finish our meal and we never even got offered a coffee or desert. Not a good experience and we have had some excellent meals in Wernigerode
This is a really good restaurant. The town is cute and fun to walk around. The restaurant is a great place to sit and relax and enjoy a good meal. The staff is friendly, and I can't say enough good things about the food. A definite 'not to miss' place!
On the main street in Wernigerode is the picturesque Ratsstubchen one of the older buildings in this beautiful town. Frau Schmidt and daughter, Carmen preside over a homely bar serving excellent German food at reasonable prices along with excellent German beers. Do try the Schwarzbier [black beer]. Bar tends to close when the last person falls off their stool! Looking forward to my next visit.
Super delicious, super cozy, super friendly, super quaint—there's nothing more to say. We'll be stopping here again on the third day of our vacation.
Small but perfectly formed. Clearly a restaurant with regulars, where we were lucky to snag a spot at the bar. Quaint atmosphere, delicious food at very reasonable prices, and uncomplicated, friendly service. Highly recommended!
