Was Panagiotis Angelikopoulos at Drifter Ferments a mag?
Some establishments truly stand out. My wife and I are thrilled that the owner's creativity and exceptional standards are showcased in her brick-and-mortar location here in Warwick instead of Brooklyn or another similar place. I can count on one hand the few times I've truly experienced what I would describe as a full “food experience.” These rare moments occur when the flavors and sensations of a dish completely envelop your senses, transforming your perception of nourishment into a profound, holistic experience. Time stands still, and you find yourself lost in a reverie of delight brought on by the meal. One such experience was with the Tempeh Ruben Sandwich at Drifters Ferments in Warwick. The fact that Tara crafts each ingredient herself creates a unique dining experience that never fails to impress. I keep returning because it consistently exceeds my expectations. About a month ago, I traveled to Colorado to visit a friend, and we embarked on a psilocybin (mushroom) journey together. It was a powerful experience filled with insights, one of which gave me a deeper understanding of Tara's talent for fermentation and why her food resonates with me so profoundly. While attempting to articulate this—an undeniably delicate topic—here are my thoughts: During the journey, I perceived the organic essence of EVERYTHING on a nearly cellular level. I saw that the Earth, human beings, and everything on this planet exists in a continual process of exchange and transformation. I could even discern Tara’s unique energy and how it enhances the fermentation process of her food in a remarkable way. I gained a deep appreciation for the intricate complexity and subtle power of the organic elements embodied in Tara's dishes. I experienced firsthand how, and most importantly, why this food affected me. It was a genuine exchange of energy through food that reached me on a cellular level, shifting and elevating my consciousness in nuanced ways. The phrase "we are what we eat" took on a much deeper significance for me; it truly was food for thought! I'm not sure I've conveyed it all, but I encourage you to visit Drifter’s and discover the magic for yourself. Thank you, Tara.

Vegetarian options: Delicious vegan tempeh sandwich. Dietary restrictions: Excellent vegan options available!
5* for coffee, 5* for food, and 5* many times over for the intention that Tara puts into her cafe and her craft. It's great to find a local cafe that you love supporting but it is next level when you realize that the cafe has been created so the owner can share the things that are the foundation of her own vibrance and passion with patrons.Tara doesn't just know the items/ingredients of her sandwiches, treats, and drinks inside and out, she has hand curated the menu and offerings to ensure the quality and standard are above anything else you'll find in the area.I didn't know how delicious I would find fermented vegetables, sourdough, and tempeh not to mention how good I feel eating them! until I tried Tara's food. She is a true master of her craft. Some points to share: whilst the menu is very comfortable for vegans/vegetarians Tara has whole milk in addition to nut milks for drinks; ask what special treats Tara has when you go in so you don't miss her housemade tepache, kombucha, baked goods, or popsicles; you can ask Tara to bake you a full loaf of her sourdough (you'll be ruined for other bread after you taste hers)!; I have brought my own cup to reduce waste and Tara was happy to use my own mug.Tara's quiet hospitality and intention is something you can *feel* when you visit Drifters.
