How can an establishment that calls itself a bakery serve up the most god awful stale, dry, cold, lump of a chicken sandwich for $15.00? Thats what I had today. I told the waitress from the first bite it was stale. I asked for it to be warmed a bit however it came back the same. This is a great spot for breakfast with excellent coffee and tasty pastries. The seating may be a bit cozy, but there's enough space to sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal.
The breakfast and lunch options at this restaurant are consistently good, and there is ample parking available in the area, which is a bonus. While we tried the dinner once, and the food was average, the service fell short. It could have just been an off night.

The new Israeli Street Food concept menu at the Vaucluse outlet of the old Grumpy Baker brings back nostalgic elements of the past while introducing a unique food story that sets it apart from other Mediterranean specialty venues in Sydney. From baking and pickling to slow cooking meats and vegetables over a charcoal woodfire oven, this store offers a cuisine that is not commonly found in our city. One standout dish was the Eye Fillet filled pita with Chimchurri, featuring perfectly cooked meat with a smoky flavor from the oven at the center of the space. For dessert, the watermelon feta provided a delightful contrast of salty and sweet flavors, ideal for a refreshing summer treat. Special items vary daily, with options like a lamb 'kofta-like' mince kebab wrapped and cooked on a cinnamon stick, offering a unique blend of sweetness and smoke. Freshly made mint lemonade served as the perfect thirst quencher. The service is friendly, courteous, and efficient.
