Was Anonym at Oscar's Pub a mag?
We happened to pass by the restaurant and noticed a sign advertising steak sandwiches on the chalkboard outside. Although we had already eaten, we decided to come back the following Thursday. Despite initially having low expectations based on some reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the steak sandwiches. The cuts of steak were thick and cooked to a perfect medium rare, and very flavorful. We... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Oscar's Pub:
Our first impressions of Oscar's Pub was that the windows were very grubby. Upon entering the pub we noticed that there were very few patrons in attendance. Given that it was a Wednesday the chicken wings were on sale for 35 cents.........what a deal. We didn't stay long as we were to meet friends for dinner about 4 blocks into Burnaby. We'll remember to return on a Wednesday for their wing special View all feedback.

The fact that the reviews say 3/5 when I look this place up is a stretch. I can't even believe it. FIRST of all the service is completely awful. There is probably one or possibly two servers in that entire establishment that actually knows what it means to be a server and how to serve. All of those servers are female and only show respect and attention to tables with men. It’s not at all surprising. You’re a person of colour? Good luck. You’re a woman? Good luck. You know the type of servers that completely ignore you and then only remember to make conversation when bringing you the bill? Yeah, you got it, that’s them. It is so extremely frustrating and I knew I wouldn’t be able to not make a review about it. I have been a Chef for over 6 years and in the service industry for 10+ years. If I ever, and I mean ever had people working for me like the awful bartender and lazy servers then I’d have the out so fast. They are the type of workers that completely destroy your business. I ordered a long Island Ice Tea from the bartender, I received iced tea with bourbon… Pardon? Please look up the contents in that drink. I’ve ordered pitchers of beer that came completely flat because it was either not cold enough or there was something wrong with the pipes. Like people, get it together. It is truly not that hard. I’d never recommend this place and in fact, if they’d like, I would come in and give them a real lesson on what it means to their jobs.. This is entirely a front of house complaint. Get it together guys. DO BETTER.
We came here on a Saturday night to get some late night food. When we entered the pub, it was very busy because they were hosting a fundraising event. We seated ourselves at the bar since all of the tables were occupied. We had to get the menus ourselves, but the bartender did check in with us often to see if we wanted anything to drink. We decided to order a few appetizers to be safe. We ordered nachos, dried ribs, mozza sticks, and chicken wings. We also ordered a few drinks. The bartender did a good job of pouring drinks for everyone. He was also quick and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it all tasted pretty good. They have decent food and drink specials every day.We were all satisfied with our experience here especially since they were so busy.
I'm not sure of the name of the server with long black hair, but she's fantastic! I've had poor service on two occasions from the other server, who is very thin and...
