Nonna's Table
Description
The restaurant in question seems to not have many positive reviews. Customers complained about poor service, long wait times for food, the quality of the dishes served, and even errors in the billing. One reviewer mentioned that the restaurant would benefit from a different theme, such as a tiki bar, offering Hawaiian or Polynesian cuisine. However, there were some positive notes regarding Nona's Table Pizza, with customers enjoying the pizzas and finding the prices reasonable. When staying somewhere for only about 8 hours we don't like to overspend when possible. The Waldorf was inexpensive and served up some great customer service for the price. Room was a little dated, but clean and what we expected. We had no issues like other reviewers and other than a little noisy we enjoyed our stay and agreed if we needed to stay in the area again we would go back. View all feedback.
What busyeater dislikes about Nonna's Table:
Old fashioned, dowdy and eclectic décor. We visited on a cold rainy day just after Christmas. The wood burning oven drew us in. Friendly reception. Not at all busy. Nice staff who kindly turned the music down for us....we were seated right under the speakers. A few lunch specials, everything reasonably priced. We shared a pizza because of the wood burning oven. Considering we were practically the only customers and a... View all feedback.
I was in the neighborhood for business, and stopped by for lunch. I was intrigued by the location as the Waldorf property appears to have undergone some renovations lately, so wanted to check it out. I initially was going to order the soup and sandwich daily special but instead opted for the Spaghetti Alla Vongole - boy was that worth the change! It was simply prepared, which is nice as that's my preference. Pasta was al dente, clams were fresh, sauce wasn't overpowering, it was just a nice hearty meal. The server, Tania was very friendly and inviting, and talked me into having Calde Calde, an Italian dessert - in layman's terms a fried soft donut covered in sugar, drizzled generously with warm Nutella - my goodness! All this for an extended lunch, the two dishes definitely would be sufficient as a dinner option, or just come in for the Calde Calde. It wasn't busy as I came after the lunch hour, so can't speak to how they handle busy times. But I was very impressed with the quality of the food and the service I received, and the menu is definitely accessible and reasonably priced for the food you get. I hope to swing by again when I'm in the neighborhood. Thanks so much!
This place is missing such a great opportunity. They have the perfect space for a fun tiki themed restaurant. Hawaiian food, polynesian, poke bowls...literally anything besides italian would work. Just so much disconnect. Food is average, service below average, and it's always cold. They really need to sink some money into branding this place properly.
Nona's Table Pizza was conveniently located next to the Hotel, so of course I had to try it. I am not a pizza lover, but I liked the pizza at Nona. I paired the pizza with a local beer and altogether the dinner was a great price. For our first night in Vancouver, this was the perfect way to begin our exploration.
Pizza, meatballs are amazing, quiet, fast service and my and my love enjoy the private area with the couches and Large tv!!!! Best pizza in Vancouver!!!
