Was Jhk 727 at Ju a mag?
Loved the contemporary interior with luxury yet romantic atmosphere. 8-course menu was well constructed with each ingredient having some ties to traditional Korean cuisine. What Andy Chiang dislikes about Ju:
I really wanted to like this place, based on the reviews I’ve seen and the social media reviews promoting this place. The food portions are quite small, and I’m not a big eater, but it left me hungry by the end of the experience. Some of the flavours from the tasting menu didn’t quite fit, and detracted from the meal. For example, a warm dish that has a cold piece in the middle of it. Finally, the cocktails, they are... We had a great time at Ju, the service was very good, timing of food was great as well. The staff were really on the ball and our main wait staff was very good and cordial. The food itself was good but not spectacular. I think after watching Culinary Class Wars, I’ve been spoiled watching really amazing chefs cook, I think I’m being more picky with what I consider amazing food. I will definitely try this place again, and am hoping for the best for this restaurant. Finally, the cocktails, they aren’t bad, but for the price you pay, I expected a little bit more, some simple things like clear ice would really elevate the experience.
