Very nice local café. Simple meals but very well prepared and presented with a wonderful flavour. Wide range too. _What more do you need?
We dropped by this place as it was off the busy main street, but looked busy, which is always a good sign. Service was prompt and food quality and coffee well done and presented. All foods are presented as healthy with lots of choices. We will certainly go back.
This is a great place for breakfasts or lunch, with the ordinary egg-styles and a few original breakfasts; for lunch a few original menus are offered. The ambiance is great. People are seated close-by; you feel as if in a family. When weather permits, eating on the galery is great.
The Général café has many seating places outside and it’s located just in front of the cycling path « le petit train du nord ». It’s a good place to stop for lunch while biking. The wait line to order was really long. It was also long before receiving the food. I might have been just unlucky, but it wasn’t peak hour... There a lot of vegan choices, but beware of the extras to change dairy cheese to vegan cheese. I had the vegan moroccan grilled-cheese with a side of gaspacho and it cost me 22 . That’s overpriced in my opinion. The grilled-cheese was good, but nothing amazing. Same for the gaspacho. Updated from previous review on 2020-08-18
The coffee here is amazing! We actually went twice because it’s so good. The vegan sandwich and vegan BLT are also amazing. They also bake their own muffins and you can taste the quality. Was not able to rate this 5* otherwise I would have.
