I think they have removed many items from their menu. It seems that power bowls may no longer be available. However, they do offer avocado toast. I was unable to reach anyone by phone, so I recommend calling before visiting. This restaurant is a hidden gem located inside Plaza Tower downtown. I managed to take a picture of part of their menu, which did not include the power grain bowls that I heard are delicious. The... View all feedback.
What Betty A dislikes about 1948:
This restaurant has a charming and clean interior, and the staff was friendly. My server was quick and efficient. Great little cafe with several vegan options. We fell in love with the vegan nachos. Cinnamon roll for dessert.
During my visit, the only vegan option available was the vegan nachos, which included black beans, onions, tomatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, and cheese. Despite limited options, I found the dish to be really delicious. The menu also listed a vegan grilled cheese and a few vegan sandwiches, but they were unfortunately sold out. It appears that the restaurant pre-makes a lot of their sandwiches and sells them until they run out.

They now serve these bowls cold, but I suggest asking them to heat it up as the quinoa tastes better warm, in my opinion. The atmosphere is laid back and hipster, making it a unique and pleasant find in Tyler.
