Handy when using the Burnside Library, I was disappointed to see how tired and unattractive this cafe has become. The magazines provided were many years out of date, the food choices looked uninviting and my coffee was only luke-warm despite the fact that I had requested a hot coffee. Everything about our lunch was superb! The entree + plus main course + dessert groups du jour were perfect.
I dined here last Saturday evening and had a wonderful Fillet au Bar with risotto l'encre sèche.
The service at this restaurant can be quite slow, and the coffee is just average. The main draw is its convenient location and captive clientele. That's why it's worth a visit.
I found this cafe to be convenient while visiting the Burnside Library, however, I was disappointed by its tired and unattractive appearance. The magazines were outdated, the food options were unappealing, and my coffee was only lukewarm despite my request for a hot one. When I raised this issue, I was informed that the coffee could only be heated to a certain temperature, which was surprising as I have not encountered this problem at other locations. It is a shame, as this cafe used to be excellent, but I will not be returning.
