Had an evening banquet meal with work colleagues and was suitably surprised with the energy of the waiting staff and the ambiance. The meal was also of a good quality and was also quite generous. View all feedback.

We've dined here several times, and each time the food is fabulous, but the service really lets it down. This time, our waitress couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. She bought out our entrees but there was no utensils, and we had to flag down someone else. Our mains were put on the table while we were still eating our entrees, which was irritating. The restaurant is in a fantastic location in a beautiful town with exceptional staff and hospitality. We decided to order the banquet dinner from the menu, which was $50 per person for our party of four. The variety of food in the banquet was incredible, with the chef selecting each delicious item. We can't wait to visit again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We have dined at this restaurant twice and both times the food was excellent. Our favorite dish, the octopus balls (tako yaki), was perfectly cooked and the best we have had at any Japanese restaurant. It was a delightful discovery in a small town like Traralgon.
This Japanese restaurant is one of the best you'll find anywhere. All of the dishes were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The dessert was just as delicious. The service was incredibly attentive and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was a wonderful surprise to discover this incredible Japanese restaurant in a small town. It has now become our standard for high-quality Japanese cuisine.
They never change the menu but what is offered is excellent and we never tire of it. Very good Japanese food and service with a smile.
I've been dining and recommending A Red Dot since my first visit about 5 years ago! There are two Japanese restaurants in Traralgon, the other one is good but very much a franchise restaurant... If you want authentic fresh delicious Japanese then A Red Dot is where you go, there is no comparison. On top of the food being the best Japanese in Gippsland, the service is amazing, the atmosphere is great, very clean and simple just how they do it in Japan. You will not regret dining at this restaurant, the only thing I wish was different is I wish they were still open for lunch!
