Was Anonym at Nicolas a mag?
The staff at this restaurant were very accommodating, even towards closing time, and they offer a wide variety of carefully chosen wines. While the seating area may not be the most comfortable, it appears that the main focus of this branch is to sell bottles for retail. Additionally, they also have a selection of small plates and appetizers available. View all feedback.
What EssexAngelDelight dislikes about Nicolas:
I work above Nicolas and met a friend for lunch who used to live on the 'Wharf and used to come here regularly. We ordered 2 Duck dishes but our order got completely lost. Really good Croque Monsieur x2 plus 4 glasses of average Cabernet S. was £66 the wine used to be listed by the bottle but noticed now listed by glass didn't realise large glass of wine would be £11.00!!!!
I travel down to London often for afternoon management meetings at HSBC, and usually have to squeeze past the crowds on the move at lunchtime in the Canada Square Mall (folk are often queuing for takeaways). I know exactly where I'm going to Nicolas Wine Bar, because it's tucked away from the noise, its layout is simple but elegant (chic), and the staff are equally effortless in the way they handle restaurant goers. Part of me doesn't want to say this, because I'd rather keep the secret, but too late now...
This is a charming spot in the Wharf where you can enjoy a nice bottle of wine with cheese and meats. The prices for the wine are reasonable and you can relax and chat all night without feeling obligated to spend a lot of money.
Solo quaffing of cheese and wine, a good place of refuge when there are train delays, perfectly comfortable for a solo female
