Last weekend, very nice confortable restaurante, very good service. Very good and tasty local specialities. Açorda de Sável and filetes de Sável are great, Dessert conventual are realy great. Dont miss it. View all feedback.
What Neil T dislikes about A Luria:
We, a part of seven people, made the journey from Tomar out to this restaurant, for an evening meal, with high expectations. Not very friendly welcome when we got there, even though only four tables were occupied. Limited choice on the menu. Mushrooms on the steak had a very strange taste. Pork meat was dry (with prawns). In the middle of nowhere, some 10km out of Tomar, we were looking for a place to have a drink and then dinner. It turned out to be A Luria. We had our drinks and while we were contemplating the menu, they offered us a plate of excellent ham. The wine list is like a novel.... And we could not resist going for their last bottle of an excellent 2011 Douro. Of course, we were the first in the restaurant, but the room soon filled up with large parties of portuguese people. Somehow, that did not disrupt the service. Food was great. But perhaps what we enjoyed most was the warm handshake at the end. They must have noticed our appreciation of our evening .
I've been here several times, the food is always excellent, the service is great and the prices are affordable. It is located on a small, pittoresque, quiet village very near the Zezere river. If you're nearby, a visit is mandatory.
Good service and great home cooking, nice room, good wine cart, nice deserts definitely worth a visit!
On a beautiful place, with magnificente landscape, a place to visit with very good local food, and a good wine chart.
