Coal in Blackrock is a beautiful place with amazing food and a welcoming staff that goes above and beyond for their customers. The Heilbutt special was a hit, as were the truffle fries and Rocky Road cocktail. The friendly and attentive service, along with the consistently delicious food, make this a must-visit restaurant in Dublin. Whether it's for a special occasion or a casual meal, Coal offers a great culinary experience that will have you coming back for more. Don't miss the chance to dine under the fairy lights at night for a truly magical experience.
This neighborhood gem truly stands out, boasting outstanding service. The early evening menu provides excellent value, and their wine list, featuring both glasses and 500ml carafes, is impressive. If budget allows, I highly recommend trying the fish special.
The food at Rage was exceptional, from the starters to the main courses. The truffle fries were especially delicious. The staff were attentive throughout, and the Rocky Road cocktail is a definite must-try. I will definitely be returning.

My husband, friends, and I have been longtime loyal customers of Rage, always enjoying the food, service, and convenience. Just before Christmas 2023, our son and daughter surprised us with €100 vouchers each for the restaurant. Unfortunately, due to illness, we were unable to dine out much in early 2024 and planned to use the vouchers during our son's visit in April 2024. To our disappointment, we discovered the restaurant had closed, despite having read about it in Lucinda's article just weeks before our planned visit. It's baffling how they continued selling vouchers in December 2023 knowing they would not be open in 2024. This unexpected situation left us very disappointed.
I had an amazing dining experience at Rage in Blackrock last night. Our group of seven was celebrating our friend Catherine’s 70th birthday. The food was outstanding, and the staff were warm, attentive, and a pleasure to be with. Everyone chose either steak or fish, and every dish was perfect! If you’re in Blackrock, be sure to check out Rage—it’s definitely worth it! I’d give it a full 5-star rating!
