It was abundantly clear that the oil was filthy as the batter on the fish was dark instead of golden brown. The batter didn’t survive the 4 minute journey home as it soon became soggy and limp. Judging by previous reviews, they obviously don’t change the oil as often as they should. Funny thing is, if you use clean oil the fish actually cooks quicker and the batter stays crisp!
