What Steffen Michel dislikes about 1741:
The food was delicious and beautiful The service was poor because of language barriers. We ordered the course menu and expected a certain dish but it never came. We asked about it and were told it was on the course menu, and we could were offered nothing more: we could not get the dish we wanted The interior decor was not pretty at all The dessert was abysmal, and the other menu appeared to have better desserts The m... Four of us have dinner on the 3rd floor with a view of the kitchen I highly recommend! we chose the tasting at the blind with chords and wines and we were not disappointed. each course was cleverly prepared and delicious. the service was professional and attentive. It was our only night and strasburg and it was really memorable thanks to our experience here. we hope to return to strasburg to be able to dine at 1741.
After having service in 1741, you'll want a service like this all the time. culinary tastes were excellent. food very well presented. The wine suggestion is at the rendezvous. the interior decor is impressive. However. The service was irreproachable. 1741 is impressive. You should try it.
The restaurant has a michelin star, it should mean excellent food and drinks, a pleasant atmosphere and a high quality service. Well, not exactly. the restaurant is in an old and pretty small building, some tables had tablecloths, others had only individual plastic covered. We chose the "discovery menu" which consisted of several dishes – entries, dishes and desserts plus a few small accompaniments. Some dishes were excellent, such as foie gras mousse or lamb chops, others were really insipid, such as the seafood entrance consisting of a small piece of fish, two-three small shrimps and sauces of different colors but without taste. . the butter was abundantly poured out on everything. with the entrances, we ordered riesling and grey pinot from the Alsace region and with the main dishes, we had red wine from the south of the france. only the grey pinot was really good, the others were simple, basic although they cost 13-14 euros the glass. servers were nice and friendly, but only one of them was a real professional, while the other had difficulty explaining what was included in our offer. overall, rather mixed impressions of a chic and expensive restaurant that offers nothing exceptional. I wouldn't recommend it.
Unbelievable! From the entrance of the restaurant, we are transported to another universe. Everything was perfect. We had a table of 7 people and we all took the service four times. Everything was great, flavors I had never tasted before. The two accompanying wines (for the agreement) were very well chosen! All small things more like mouth lovers, pre desserts, mignardises that are in addition to the 4 times have also been very appreciated and equally delicious! Despite the fact that I am not accustomed to this kind of positioning, the staff was very friendly, very pleasant and accompanied us very well throughout the meal! A unique experience that I hope to do next! A restaurant I would advise all my friends!
As beautiful as it is. We spent a good time at 1741 to enjoy our 4 course menu (more all supplements). Thank you very much to the entire brigade of Chief Jeremy Page, who turned in front of us and to the room team that was in little care for us. Bravo also to highlight high-quality regional products.
