This is what Florida is really about. The Commanders looks like a very casual roadside diner with a wrap around porch. We sat on the porch and had a delicious lunch: A shrimp sandwich and a catch of the day--Mahi Mahi entree. Both were perfectly cooked. The location is close to the bay and the ocean...we genuinely felt ocean breezes wafting through while we ate. Afterwards we discovered the clam farm which is part of Commanders. they raise shellfish right there--and Mangrove trees too. Very interesting.
Got the seafood combo and it was delish.Everything was super fresh and the shrimp and ostyers were ful of flavor Thank you chef and team for an amazing dinner and great service . Thank you for your kindness.P.s. sweet tea was on point too ??
Very good restaurant. Inside and outside dining. Staff wonderful and knowledgeable about the shellfish camp. Food was good. Ne clam chowder had the most clams in it of any place we've ate. Walk on the boardwalk out back, they have more restrooms , a bar, a covered dining area. You can look at where they raise their oysters and clams and mangrove trees to help the river. They raise all their oysters and clams here. Worth the stop.
Great location, if you are in near Matanzas: closest to the South is the Palm Coast cluster. Food is great. So is the service. : 75 for 4 beers 2 non-premium meals. Not all menu items are available, and if they are, they are only availablein that way. This might be fine is you have a laundry long menu list. However, if your catch of the day options is 3,it becomes ... limiting. The average patron is 65 (from what we were able to observe). The weak points : lousy beer merikencrackers from ... the 50es. Tradition ? Maybe, but we are in the 20es of the next century. And we are accustomed to theartisan breads and craft beers. Keep up with the new generation, Camp!
Great experience! Food was great! They were really busy but it came out fast. Cathy our server/bartender was amazing! She answered all our questions even though she was busy.
