It's been 20 years since my last visit, and I couldn't resist coming back for a meal! This restaurant has been a cherished family tradition for three generations, serving up delicious food for over 50 years. It's a classic spot that’s truly worth indulging in! View all feedback.

This is a fantastic spot for dining, learning, and enjoying delicious root beer! The atmosphere is fun and welcoming as well!
I really enjoy this restaurant, and the owner is fantastic. During my last visit, I noticed an old jukebox that plays vinyl records. I asked the owner if it was operational, and he handed me a few quarters, inviting me to pick some songs. I was amazed to find out I could play a song for just a quarter! Next time, instead of using the drive-thru, I recommend parking and going inside. It’s definitely worth the experience!
A wonderful local gem! The owner is incredibly friendly and shares the history of the place in a delightful, bite-sized way. The house-made root beer served in chilled mugs is fantastic, and the loose meat sandwich is excellent as well!
This is the original Maid-Rite. The menu is simple (4 combo options), but prices seemed high (but I guess everything seems that way anymore). For a hamburger-size Maid-Rite sandwich, handful of fries, and frosty mug of root beer, it was $11 (2024). So, the portion and quality was a bit low compared to price. Service was quick and friendly. The inside could stand to be updated. The owner (I think) was very friendly and explained that this particular Maid-Rite is the original from the 1900s/1910s. The inside seemed a bit cluttered and old; I understand wanting to keep the authenticity of the original, but having boxes and books and various junk stacked in a corner gives a very cluttered, unkept feel. Nonetheless, the food was decent.
This was a definite throw back in time. Super cold frosted mug of root beer was what brought me back the next day for round two. Great place a must if you are in Springfield!
