Feedback
Westward in Seattle is known for its amazing setting and delicious food, but some reviewers found it to be overpriced. The cocktails and food were generally good, with standout dishes like fried green tomatoes, yukon gold potatoes, and risotto. While some felt that the portion sizes were small for the price, others praised the flavors of dishes like pork ribs and delicata squash. The atmosphere was described as cozy and beautiful, with an outdoor fireplace adding to the charm. A reviewer mentioned that the music was too loud, making it difficult to hear servers and have conversations. Despite mixed reviews on pricing and portion sizes, Westward stood out for its exceptional service and memorable dining experiences for special occasions like weddings. The stunning views and attentive staff made it a favorite spot for many diners, despite some room for improvement in terms of value and portion sizes.
I went to Westward with a group of seven good friends during our visit to Seattle.
Having worked for a long time in the best seafood restaurant in New Orleans, I am admittedly an Oyster Snob.
Wow why did we wait so long to eat here? Totally lived up to expectations: briny take on a martini (yes! , herby tomato salad with best burrata ever, grilled peppers with crunchy addictive breadcrumbs, and of course: the wonderfully fresh and tasty oysters...all super-delicious. Marvelously flavorful and we can't wait to go back. (Roasted poisson a little overdone, unfortunately, but still pretty yummy . And lovely service to make it all just right.
The view here is beautiful. The sun was out so we sat outside. The bread was delicious, soft inside with a nice chewy crust. The halibut was amazing, and I wish we'd both ordered that. The whole Poisson I ordered turned out to be a half chicken and was over cooked with a sauce that was a little too spicy. The waitress brought a second bottle of sparkling water we didn't ask for and drank very little of. Of course we were charged for 2 bottles $8 each). Other than that, it was great. Stick with seafood and say no if your waitress brings anything you didn't order.
