Feedback
Westward in Seattle is known for its amazing setting and delicious food, but some reviewers found it to be overpriced. The cocktails and food were generally good, with standout dishes like fried green tomatoes, yukon gold potatoes, and risotto. While some felt that the portion sizes were small for the price, others praised the flavors of dishes like pork ribs and delicata squash. The atmosphere was described as cozy and beautiful, with an outdoor fireplace adding to the charm. A reviewer mentioned that the music was too loud, making it difficult to hear servers and have conversations. Despite mixed reviews on pricing and portion sizes, Westward stood out for its exceptional service and memorable dining experiences for special occasions like weddings. The stunning views and attentive staff made it a favorite spot for many diners, despite some room for improvement in terms of value and portion sizes.
I went to Westward with a group of seven good friends during our visit to Seattle.
Having worked for a long time in the best seafood restaurant in New Orleans, I am admittedly an Oyster Snob.
Review specifically for the winter Shut Up Bobby’s popup We had friends visiting and wanted to take them to Westward the the epic view and amazing food, but didn’t know if we’d be able to get it we’re used used to the summer time crowds! and we were pleasantly surprised to find they were doing a special popup restaurant concept during Westward’s slower months called “Shut Up Bobby’s”! We found parking right out front, a lot of open tables, so no wait at all. It’s a very different experience and menu from the usual Westward, but same great view and vibes and the food was incredible! : Slimmed down staff and menu casual/seat yourself setup with a simple menu of chicken or salmon platters and sides to build your own tacos as well as fresh or baked oysters think QR code on the table/order through your phone and they drop off at your table . But price points were really reasonable $48 chicken platter with a couple sides and a half dozen oysters added on fed four of us and the food was fantastic. I’d highly recommend checking it out we totally get how tough winter/slow months can be in the f&b industry and love the creative approach they took to keep the lights on and provide an amazing experience! fyi they said it’s the same culinary team, but offering this special, slimmed down menu to get through the slow winter so you will definitely have a fantastic meal AND help support this gem of a restaurant! You can order online for pickup too! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Vegetarian options: We didn’t see any vegetarian options for the popup menu, just chicken, salmon or oysters
Good service. Very overpriced for the food quality and portion sizes. I would not recommend going to this restaurant over any of the other restaurants nearby it. I’ll say too, as many others have said in their reviews here, I don’t appreciate a mandatory 22% service fee. At this point you’re basically advertising your food prices as 22% lower on the menu then they actually are…just add 22% to the sticker price and give 22% to your staff of the total or are you worried that will scare off your clientele because your prices $6 for one oyster plus charging for things like ketchup?! are already well above market price?
