Virgil's is a restaurant that offers an experience that falls somewhere in between fast food and fine dining. While the Memphis BBQ ribs were excellent, the Texas BBQ brisket left much to be desired. The service ranged from unenthusiastic to fantastic, with some servers going above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. The food was hit or miss, with fresh-made pasta standing out but other dishes falling short of expectations. Overall, the ambience of the restaurant may not match the expectations set by Yelp photos, and the service can be inconsistent. However, for those willing to give it a chance, Virgil's offers a mix of delicious food and attentive service that may just make it worth another visit.

Was Mark S at Tratto San Francisco a mag?
I had a fantastic pasta dish that I thoroughly enjoyed, and all the drinks were excellent as well. However, my date's steak wasn't the best cut of meat, so I would recommend sticking with the pasta on future visits. I also appreciated that the restaurant was very accommodating, even though my date arrived quite late. View all feedback.
What PaloAltoTman dislikes about Tratto San Francisco:
Food is OK but pricey. The skirt steak is reliably good. We paid a $4 upcharge to get potatoes instead of polenta, which is OK but other restaurants would just do the substitution. The swordfish was properly prepared and a reasonable size but the vegetables underneath were rather muddy-tasting and uninspired. There was confusion about whether we both ordered minestrone to start and when one arrived we let them know w... View all feedback.
My experience at this restaurant was terrible and ruined my entire trip. The service was extremely poor. When I entered the restaurant, the waitress with glasses at the front desk walked away without acknowledging me. I waited for a few minutes until the duty manager informed me that only takeout orders were being accepted. However, I saw that there were empty tables available. We decided to order anyway and waited in the hotel lobby. When our order arrived, it was incorrect. I had to return to the restaurant, but the bill had a completely different name on it, which made me feel uncomfortable and offended. The service was inferior and I will never return.
This restaurant has an exceptional menu that is well executed in every aspect. Their new pizza is outstanding, as well as the fresh and delicious bruschetta. The staff and general manager are amazing, welcoming, and accommodating. Reservations are highly recommended as the restaurant is popular and fills up quickly. We were luckily able to get a table thanks to the generosity of the GM. I highly recommend dining at Tratto.
I ordered the Prix Fixe menu, which was delicious and prepared with all fresh food on site. This restaurant at Marker Hotel was recommended for before theater dining and was perfect.
After a long travel day, we were starving and wanted something close to our hotel. We didn’t research, just picked the closest place. We started our meal with the focaccia and the meatballs. Both were absolutely fantastic. For our main course we orderedthe pappardelle pasta and the pizza with prosciutto, roasted grapes, arugula, balsamic, and goat cheese. I’m not exaggeratingwhen I tell you this was the best pasta and pizza I have ever had and I consider myself well pretty well traveled. The servicewas great, the drinks were strong. I don’t know how this place doesn’t have 5 stars.
