This was likely the best meal we had during our time in Ireland. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something a notch above the typical goujons and curry!
I had lunch at O'Dowds and ordered the chicken dish, but I was very disappointed with my meal. The chicken was tough and rubbery, and the chips lacked flavor. It felt like a straightforward dish that should have been easy to get right, but it missed the mark. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, and I won't be going back.
I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading some positive reviews, but my visit fell short of expectations. When we arrived, the door was closed, which set a less-than-ideal tone. My partner really liked the chowder, and we both tried the mussels as an appetizer. While the portion was on the smaller side, they were quite flavorful. My salmon main course was good, but the sauce lacked seasoning, and the scallops were overcooked. My partner's fish and chips were acceptable. However, it appeared that several items on the menu were already sold out by the time other guests arrived. To top it off, the staff could have been more attentive to the diners.
