From start to finish this was a delicious dinner all the way around! We started off with the artichoke, and went on to have delicious pastas and an excellent dinner. The ambience is upscale and romantic! The host was so lovely. The entire experience was wonderful! It’s a step above the trattorias and the food is just delicious. You cannot go wrong here at all. We loved our time at Piperno!
This is one of the oldest restaurants in the Jewish ghetto area in a quiet square away from the hustle of the main street. General vibe is friendly but formal, with waiters in full uniform. We came for the artichokes and they were fantastic fried to a crisp (in the best ungreasy way . I also had artichokes with lamb sweetbreads, and my husband had the saltimbocca, with a very good bottle of white from Lazio. Desert was grandpa 's balls (don 't ask! . We liked it all and booked for a second night, asking to eat in the very festive main dining room, rather than one of the quieter side rooms. Everyone was super friendly ; our waiter from the first evening stopping by to say Hello the second night and the hostess greeted us like her long lost friends. We hope to be back soon!
Very rude, almost discriminatory receptionist… The food was average there are other places in the area with far better food
Excellent experience. Cozy, authentic atmosphere. Impeccably dressed and attentive waiters. Excellent food, wide wine selection. Local vibe with regulars. Excellent seasonal dishes (the artichoke was delicious and crisp). Exceptional sea bream in a potato crust. Amazing tiramisu and homemade cakes. Perfect value for money.
