What User dislikes about Oscars:
The ambiance and decor of the restaurant are beautiful, but the service was very slow and the Sunday dinner was extremely disappointing. Both of us ordered the bratbeef, which was half fat and difficult to cut. The Belgian waffle for dessert seemed like it was from the freezer and over-microwaved, tasting more like a cookie. It will be a while before we consider returning. View all feedback.

I had previously written a review at another location, but this experience was very similar. It was a gift from our grandchildren for my birthday, carefully chosen to include my wife as well. This charming old townhouse is situated within a hotel in a picturesque area and exuded a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and escorted to a table in a stunning winter garden. Our beverages were promptly served, followed by a delightful afternoon tea spread with cakes, sandwiches, scones, jam, and cream. Words alone cannot adequately convey the quality, quantity, presentation, and overall value of the delicious meal we enjoyed. Referring to it as a mere snack would not do it justice. With excellent service and a beautiful setting, this restaurant would be an obvious choice for any special celebration in the future.
I was an evening at the hotel for work and instead of going, I thought I could stay in the restaurant and eat. I ordered a pickle juice and a lamb steak. minutes later, the main entrance to which I should remember that I had ordered a drink. that was brought to me. the lamb was chewy, and I was not offered a sauce for my chips. the table next to me had an empty, dirty plate of someone who had gone before I sat down. After I finished, I noticed that one of the waiters went around and offered tables brot before you came to the net, which I had not been offered. this was a Thursday evening, with a series of empty tables. would not be eating here again.
My boyfriend and I had a valentines meal here as we were staying for the weekend in the hotel. We booked a package deal which originally should have been a superior double room but due to over booking over the valentines weekend we were changed...to a standard double (this was ran by us first) and we were offered complimentary add ons which we were pleased with. Because of this, our package included a three course meal and bottle of wine. On arrival to the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely remember of staff who was welcoming and asking about our stay. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but we felt she was an asset to the company as she couldn't do enough for us. The other staff were also very attentive and we were never waiting long for our next course. The food was excellent, we ordered the tomato and red pepper soup to start, followed by a burger and mushroom risotto for our mains and a chocolate dome brownie and lemon tart for dessert. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed. The wine was lovely and the ambience of the room was perfect for the occasion. All the furniture looks to be Laura Ashley and it really is stunning. Highly recommend.
