Located just a short stroll from Gants Hill station, Al Souk offers a vibrant dining experience steeped in Lebanese flavors. Patrons rave about the generously portioned dishes, especially the Shish Taouk and kibbeh, both bursting with flavor. However, service may experience hiccups during peak hours, with reports of understaffing impacting the overall customer experience. Despite this, the warm atmosphere and well-crafted decor leave a positive lasting impression. While some items may be unavailable, the menu’s highlights, paired with a relaxing ambiance, make Al Souk a noteworthy destination for Lebanese cuisine enthusiasts.
The review must cover three aspects: 1-food, 2-service, 3- ambience. I am comparing this to Edgeware road outlets! First the food: main dishes were good but the starters were much below mark. Milk shakes were excellent BUT you don't go to Lebanese restaurants to have milk shake!!! Second was the servise: Excellent, the waiters went out of the way to serve and were available whenever needed. Third, the ambience: Too noisy. You expect some decorum when you are with family. But your regular clientele seemed happy, so we were the odd ones out. In conclusion, the low quality of food and ambience more than offset the otherwise excellent service level.
I made a reservation for a birthday party at this restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be returning in the future!
The service at this restaurant was incredibly fast, with a wide variety of food and drink options available. While the prices may be a bit high, the portion sizes were generous.
This was my first time visiting the restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. The food was excellent, but the customer service fell short. It appeared that they were understaffed, as we had to repeatedly ask for items that were never brought to us. The bartender was rude when we couldn't find a waiter, and even though my friend asked for water, he chose to ignore her.
I booked this for a birthday party, it was a really nice place and we loved eating. service was great and we had a lot of fun. will be back!
