Was Anonym at Elysium a mag?
I've been coming to the Elysium since it was a small place on the not so fashionable side of Randwick. The food, if the chefs have a free hand, is wonderful. But, since moving to the Spot, they seem to have been tricked or forced into providing food for the masses. It's a shame; they're capable of so much more. Now the restaurant is a place of echoing voices, loud music and patchy food and service. I was there on a T... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Elysium:
The place looks good and has a nice wine bar but that is all. We were very disappointed with our pizzas. Hardly any toppings and quite cheaply done. Poor choice on the menu also. Would not go back again. View all feedback.

Now the restaurant is a place of echoing voices, loud music and patchy food and service. I was there on a Thursday (2/5) but the restaurant was almost deserted. The food was fabulous - the pork, when well done, is amazing and that night it was. The service however was awful - a young waitress who seemed to be anxious to see the back of us and tried her best to be unwelcoming; she was successful. Please Elysium, go back to what you're good at - creative cooking in a cosy atmosphere.
Much improved by recent revamp. The menu pricing is more sensible, the bolognaise is worth eating out for and the woodfire pizzas are really the best pizzas to be had without driving to haber field. Take a booth and bring a nice bottle. The desserts are nice too.
This is a great local restaurant. Its food and service is one of the best in 'the spot'. You can tell the chefs really care about the food. I think they use the 'less is more' approach, leaving the top quality ingredients to shine through, so don't come here if you want quantity, not quality. The service is also very friendly without being obtrusive. Definately will be going back here.
The restaurant had average decor and the service was okay. The pizza was tasty, but the use of a low quality sausage ruined it. I wouldn't recommend this place, as there are better options available, even at kebab shops.
I can't believe that the pizza oven wasn't even warmed up before dinner service at this pizza restaurant! The pork belly, which was supposed to be a favorite, was dry, flavorless, and overpriced. The carbonara pasta was so undercooked that the fettuccine noodles were stuck together. When we brought these issues to the staff's attention, they didn't seem to care. We definitely won't be coming back.
