Buff’s Grill is one of the best things about Pilot Point, TX. Great people, great food, and we almost always see some of our favorite horse people there. The bar is fun friendly.
The food is fresh and the service is great! The okra was not the heavy breaded frozen type. It was made with cornmeal and it reminded me of my grandma's cooking. The owner is so friendly and we love the atmosphere. This is going to be one of our regular dining spots now.
We eat at least once a week at Buff. Everything's fresh. Nothing is frozen here except the Blue Bell ice cream. Super clean, great service, and J.D. (the owner) makes it a point to say hello for everyone. They won't be disappointed.
The okra and chicken fried steak at Buff's Grill are quite tasty. The okra shares the same breading as the catfish, which is a clever choice in my opinion. The chicken fried steak has a good balance between breading and steak. My only suggestions would be to add a pinch of pepper to the country gravy and use a more cheddar-forward cheese in the mac and cheese. Aside from that, the portion sizes and the flavor of the meat make it well worth the price.
The food at Buff's Grill was delicious with generous portions. However, the glass of water tasted strange, almost as if it contained chemicals or fluoride, indicating it might not have been properly filtered. Other than the water, everything else was excellent.
