came here when we wanted to sit 20 minutes before a date after lunch. I cleaned a tea and put me down. tee came black, and we prefer white tee so went to ask for milk. must pay additional 30 cent for milk?! normal cow milk, understood. not mandible or soy- or lactose-free milk. that never happened to us. we sat back anyway. after that we were asked to go because we took a table and don't eat. sad. very sad. the sausa... Yum! had lunch here on a friend's choice. food was nice, a touch on a pricey side but not unreasonable. service was extremely friendly and very personal - the couple knew the names of most of the customers who came in during the time we were there!
If you go anywhere in Perth for the authenticity of a good home style meal, make Toffee Cafe a priority. This little gem in the CBD, is worth visiting once a week, the service is prompt and efficient, yet very accommodating(It's German). And Jochen and his wife and two wonderful and friendly people. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and delightful. I recommend the German pork chop lunch. But if your in a rush do try the Hamburg style rolls, well crafted and delightful. Coffee (hot and iced), beer (german), and german food - really authentic combined with great service everytime. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks
This restaurant is fantastic, with excellent service and delicious German cuisine. However, the dining area is very small. I suggest that the Perth City Council allow them to have tables and chairs in the arcade, as other restaurants in the same arcade do. I highly recommend this restaurant - it's where I have important discussions with Dave Rodda about deep matters of state and world events.
