We are excited to welcome you to The Raymond 1886. Please make a reservation online or by calling the restaurant at 626-441-3136. If you have any special requests, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you, although we cannot guarantee them. We offer both outdoor seating in our lovely patio spaces and indoor tables in our beautiful cottage and bar. Nestled in a charming Craftsman-style home, The Raymond offers a unique dining experience in South Pasadena. While many guests rave about the delightful atmosphere and excellent service, there have been mixed reviews regarding the food quality and preparation. While some praised dishes like the Steak Tartare and Ocean Trout, others found their meals lacking in soul and flavor. Service inconsistencies, especially with drink orders and special requests, have also been noted. However, the ambiance, particularly on the outdoor terrace, remains a highlight, making it a lovely spot for a date night or casual gathering with friends.
We had the best time with a group of friends the ambience was perfect in the garden on a hot afternoon (although I have to go back on a cold day and enjoy the inside next , the food was delicious and the cocktails incredible. Our group had truly the most enjoyable brunch at this charming and historic establishment, we were a really large group so we had an opportunity to order many items and everything that was sampled was just incredibly delicious! Their mixologist didn't miss the mark. their cocktails were divine. Some of our favorite dishes were the omelettes, waffles, eggs benedict, salmon avocado toast, too many to mention because we were all so pleased with the quality of dishes served here. Can't wait to go back!
Waiter was not a professional. Not bad, just a greater delay in service and he couldn’t pronounce the items on the menu. For this kind of money, you expect better staff. He wasn’t all bad, just not great. Cocktails are out of this world amazing. But took longer than they should to be delivered to table (waiter issue) Valet parking cheap. Wow! Atmosphere so cool. Old restaurant in the city of Passdena, situated in a big old house. Very cozy and cute little restaurant. The food is a mix of everything, from Mexican to French , we had brunch on this particular day but everything tasted good. It was a bit crowded sothe wait was a bit longer but service was great and attentive.
Been coming to this place for close to 10 years now and never grow tired of it. Tje cocktails and food are great and the ambience inside this craftsman cottage always transports me to another era. Classic Pasadena! The Fermi Paradox cocktail is a 10and the short rib tacos on the brunch menu are excellent. But my favorite is the cinnamon roll!
