Since our hotel did not serve breakfast, we ended up trying this bar and really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh and delicious, and cappucinos were served just the way I like them, con molta schiuma ; Right across is a beautiful bookstore! View all feedback.
What Kleintje65 dislikes about Cardinal:
Aperol Spritz without spritz. Too sweet, not cold, no bubbels. Other guests asking for ice cubes too. Confirmed my prejudice to not choose a terrace too close to a top tourist location. View all feedback.
Very nice spot near the duomo, good for people watching. A white wine a Prosecco for €8 including crisps focaccia seemed like a decent price. Speedy service from a pleasant waiter.

After a day of strolling around the city, we stopped here for a drink and a snack, and we’re glad we did. The staff was more than friendly and accommodating, and the array of local meats and cheeses offered was phenomenal.
The food here was very good like most of the places in this part of Italy. The service was a bit sketchy though. The waiter didn't speak English (which of course is not a problem and I don't expect nor demand it), but if you couldn't make yourself clear (e.g. you would like a table for 2; you would like to see the menu; you would like to order x, etc) within about 3 seconds, the waiter would just wave you off and move to the next table.
Food was excellent, and perfect for a mid-afternoon break. Fresh and tasty, and great beverages and coffees. Service was top-notch and very friendly to Americans traveling and light on the language. Definitely recommend.
