Was Anonym at Peter Devines a mag?
We visited this afternoon with the family on St-Patty's Day. It wasn't extremely busy yet because it was mid-afternoon but we found it very pleasant with a cozy atmosphere. We had beers and chicken nachos which were very good. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Peter Devines:
This is a small, no-frills pub. I wish it was a bit dingier so that I could label it as a sketchy pub, but it's actually too new and too nice...which really disappoints me. View all feedback.
I decided to have lunch at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant, but the menu was not appealing and the outdoor seating was too hot. I ended up walking to a different restaurant where the patio was nicely shaded and not too crowded. I later found out that Peter Devine's is actually connected to the Heart and Crown next door, but they have slightly different menus.
I attended an Irish wake at Devine's on a Tuesday and was impressed by the experience. The gourmet sandwiches, fruit, cheese, and other offerings were fresh and abundant. The staff was respectful and discreet, making it a fitting venue for such a solemn occasion. The space can accommodate about 30 seated guests and is part of the Irish Village, which includes other pubs. They serve a delicious Caesar cocktail and are generous with the whiskey. I plan to return for dinner on the patio in the future.
A group of us were meeting here for dinner on a Friday night. This is part of the Heart and Crown complex and it is the small building to the side. I have to admit I did not have high expectation for the food since I ate at Heart and Crown before although it was a few years ago. It was pretty average pub food and did not inspire frequent visit although it had decent drinks and some live entertainment on the weekend. The cover after 8 or 9pm is $5 I think and you have 3 live bands in different parts of the complex. I had the Guiness stew and it was an average beef stew. I tried one of the microbrews that I have not tried before and it was fine but there were a few other on the menu I would have liked better. There was a small 2 person band at Peter Devine's, a small one at the building to the left and a larger one in one of the back rooms.Parking on a Friday night was $7 in the garage across the road but had to park on the roof since everything is full. I would go again if there is the right entertainment but I would eat somewhere else before next time.
This is a small, no-frills pub. I wish it was a bit dingier so that I could label it as a sketchy pub, but it's actually too new and too nice...which really disappoints me.
