From beginning to end this place is fantastic. We started with the lobster escargot as an appetizer. This dish is small pieces of lobster in a wonderful butter/lemon sauce. We tried three different main dishes(duck, beef tenderloin stroganoff and the Seafood Papperdelle. All three entrees were outstanding. I truly hope the owner takes this review to heart because I've enjoyed meals at DaVinci many times over the past twenty years. It used to be one of the best restaurants in Salem, but unfortunately, our latest visit revealed that it's losing its touch. Our server was surprisingly unprofessional and lacked experience. Lackluster experience, overcooked and undercooked food, this business has gone down in its quality.
Very nice and elegant restaurant with a Baby grand by the entrance. The place was not super busy but it was lively. The host station was unattended for at least 6 minutes and no one greeted us. The wine menu was one sheet of paper and was not very exciting. Now, everything went very well after we were greeted by our server, Linda. She knows wines and was very knowledgeable on the food. It's shocking to me and disappointing to learn that this restaurant essentially is refusing to serve my wife. For this reason, she cannot go to the restaurant to sit there and eat dinner. Isabel is the stroke survivor. We have not eaten at a restaurant that I can remember since her stroke. If she wants something from a restaurant I call up ask for them to prepare the food and I go and pick it up. So this is New Territory for me.
