Was Jillian Crisp at Monkey Bean Cafe a mag?
There was a small menu but it was good! Coffee was locally produced and lovely. I really enjoyed the salad with toasted sesame seed dressing and the owner told me where to buy the dressing! My family liked the burgers and tasty chips. Staff were very warm. View all feedback.

Clean, nice toasties, pleasant ambience -depending on the radio (JJJ) music playing at the time. Good cuppa tea. Friendly service.
Delicious freshly cooked food with very friendly staff and good service. We had a lovely toastie and beef burger, with curly fries which were just fabulous thick but still crispy. Great choice of teas too.
I wasn't expecting to find Japanese options when I entered, but I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken karaage was amazing, as were the homemade curly fries. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be to use a cabbage salad instead of lettuce, but I admit that’s just a personal preference. The owner shared that he had worked in Japan and was truly passionate about the cuisine. I will definitely be returning! Edit: I went back again, and the salad was a mix of cabbage and lettuce. So delicious!
