I called in here for a quick bite and had the octopus and artichoke salad. It was one of the best lunches I have had in France since arriving a week ago- delicious. Barman/ waiter very friendly too.

A friend flew to nice for the day to surprise us. This place was local enough for us all to get to. For the south of France, the prices were excellent. For the quality of food too! Great choice of salads. No alcohol as we are all trying to good and look after our figures! Nice salad with some fresh bread and soft drink was approx €10 a person. Faultless visit. Will definitely be back

I again visited L'Annexe while in Nice in October. Another man there this time with almost no English whatsoever, and spoke French which was difficult for me to understand, but you know what- he was more welcoming than anyone else I met during my visit, and I met many welcoming and helpful people- once again, the food was very nice, delicious bread they get from a boulongerie nearby. He went out of his way to do as much as he could to make me feel welcome and enlisted the help of others to help me understand what food was on offer. Note- the menu is only served really between 12midfay to 2.20pm. And the chef if gone after that, but they'll muster up a sambo if u arrive later than that- they also do beer and aperitifs. Place doesn't look much, but the welcome is one any country could be proud of

This is a small little cafe/restaurant i found a couple of years ago and have returned to a few times, most recently in May this year(2014). normally, i go for a Salade Nicioise , which comes presented like a work of art, and full of taste with plenty of tasty and fresh ingredients, along with pieces of fresh crusty bread. the coffee, as with most places in Nice, is fabulous. and i like my coffee. the staff in what seems to be a family run cafe, are always so friendly and seem extremely pleased to see you on either first or subsequent visits. it 's also very inexpensive, about €6.50 or €7 for the salade, not quite sure. the prices may reflect the fact that the area is not really frequented by the bulk of tourists in Nice. it 's a place surrounded by schools and colleges and may possibly cater for these, but this also may explain the great prices. i really love the friendliness of the staff here, one guy, almost remembered my order from last year. the place seems to be mainly frequented by regulars/locals, and i find the seats outside a lovely way to enjoy your food and another part of Nice. I believe its open Monday thru to Saturday, closed Sundays.
