Great hours with it being open till midnight. Perfect for students (like myself) who do like to study at cafes! However.. terrible service and not clean. The first time I went, I was ignored and then went up to the counter to grab my own menu. The waitress who served me was quite rude as well and didn't even give me a smile? I mean it's not necessary, but it would be nice. While I ordered and began to work, I noticed many flies and small insects (inside the cabinet where the food is too.. - but quite common to be honest..). The thing which really put me off was the mini cockroach which crawled on the table.. I couldn't even stand sitting there anymore.. I ended up grabbing only the vegan brownie and a chai latte. The brownie was amazing and very decadent but the chai was off, it just wasn't good (or fresh?).. I did go a second time and sat outside. Again, I went unnoticed and the staff on that day were just rude, disinterested and uncaring. Won't be back again.. until maybe the cafe is cleaner and you get more respectful staff. Points for the brownie! And being able to study there without anyone caring about you..
Good service and place IF you're WHITE/Caucasian. If you're not, good luck. I've been here twice and on both occasions, the guy behind the counter (not the owner) was extremely disinterested in serving me or advising me. On the flipside, the dude was very friendly, helpful and even gave table service to the people HE felt were WORTH it. I observed this multiple times while I was having my meal.
Great food and coffee. Service is pretty bad and the atmosphere definitely doesnt help. If they renovated and hired better staff, it'd be a 5.
At Corelli 's, you are not God. You are merely the customer, drawn to the incredible food, fortunate enough to partake in what they have to offer. The staff have an attitude that is the opposite of 'the customer is always right ', and that 's how it should be. They 'll happily continue to serve you delicious eats if you 're not self righteous; you are not God. Deal with it. I 've been here literally hundreds of times over the last couple of years, and it 's still my favourite laid back staff or no.
Always a favourite. The service at Corelli's is notoriously terrible but thats part of its charm.Have been coming here for many years and the food and coffee are always consistent. The coffee isn't the best you can get in Newtown but since they are open till midnight every night you don't have many better options past about 8pm. The food is great for the price and there is heaps of vegetarian options. Having recently gone vegan I was surprised when I realised how little vegan there is on the menu but you can always get pasta without the cheese etc, staff all know what vegan means at least so its easy to check if something can be made vegan.Great place to chill with friends and the opening hours make it even better, the recent change to only seating more than 2 round the side if you want to sit outside is kind of annoying but I'll still be coming back plenty.
