I am very disappointed to report that the restaurant has permanently closed. My family has a summer cottage nearby, and for the past four years, we have enjoyed dining here regularly. The food was always delicious, and the owner and staff were exceptional, making us feel like part of the family. It feels like we have lost a close friend with the restaurant's closure. Exhausted and famished, three of us crossing bucolic farm country along MD301 from a wedding weekend in NC back to LI. Sunday evening, little prospect of finding decent eats, and out of the fog a large sign on the side of the road not far from Millington advertising Two Tree...a mirage or real? We found the modest looking restaurant and felt we had to go in whatever--not another restaurant open in the area. Beautiful interior, well decorated, and warm greeting from a middle aged waitress. We were seated in a dining room with what appeared to be a dozen or so couples, probably local. The menu was the first sign this was an extraordinary place, with an extensive wine menu, and a range of appetizers, soups, entrees, and (on a dessert menu) home made desserts. I ordered the mushroom soup (never reached us, many apologies), a crab cake entree (delicious, artfully arranged on the plate with rice and broccoli). A member of our party had home made banana cream pie (celestial) and shared it with the others. Since we were driving quite a few miles back to NY, we didn't sample any of the wines, but finished with espresso well brewed with a lemon peel garnish. This place is outstanding, and we'll be back on future road trips! I'll be sure not to be the designated driver so I can sample the tempting wines. Gourmet food in a relaxed, small town setting.
This place is a real hidden gem!We stopped in on our way home from a road trip and we're so happy that we did! Molly, our waitress was very good, the restaurant is historical and she saw our interests and was helpful and telling us the history. The food is absolutely amazing!! My husband enjoyed a perfectly seared salmon over butternut squash complete with a butternut squash corn cake. I enjoyed the best roasted turkey Reuben sandwich ever and I love Rubens! Fresh and delicious! Our appetizer were fried oysters, absolutely amazing! We also enjoyed a salad which was very hearty and delicious enough for two to split. We can't wait for another road trip!!!
Lovely place good service, delicious food. Ordered fresh Crab cake sandwiches . Wife ordered vegetable squash risotto which was also excellent. Family friendly and gem of a place located middle of a tiny town. Highly recommend.
We tried this restaurant based on Yelp recommendations and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was outstanding. The service was awesome. We had the calamari appetizer which was delightful-very tender. The crab cake sandwich was true Maryland Eastern shore quality, packed with blue crab meat. The special was a ham and Swiss BLT and this was no deli ham!, carved off the bone for sure. Stop by if you are anywhere in the area. We will be back.
Third time here this is a great hidden jewel worthy of a bit of a drive. Great service, great food, pleasant atmosphere. I'm fussy about crab cakes, so I don't normally order them out. Two Tree's crab cake was the best I've had in a long time; paired with a delicate sauce (and a Pinot Gris). Their Maryland crab soup was spicy and tasty; the mushroom truffle soup my husband ordered was gourmet. Wines are well chosen and reasonably priced, which is a refreshing change from most restaurants.
